Why don't crested geckos regrow their tails

I've heard from people who keep geckos that geckos can't grow after they are released. What makes the tail of crested geckos not grow? Tell me the reason why the tail can't grow back PLEASE!!!

Who said that the tail of crested geckos does not grow? Crested geckos can grow their tails back, it's just that the shape is different from the original tail.

The Crocked Gecko, which has the scientific name Correlophus ciliates, is better known as the eyelash gecko. It originated in New Caledonia in 1866. The eyelash gecko lacks eyelids and is instead replaced with transparent scales.
